We were born to be REAL, not "perfect"!
We are all unique in our own ways. The times have changed so much in the last 10 years with natural portraits turning into selfies with filters.
Social media posts consist of selfies using 10 different filters and apps and when you see the person live, they look nothing like the pictures they post. Don't hide your lines and imperfections, they tell a story. They show your strength, experiences, good and bad, but most importantly, they show life.
Come on ladies and gentlemen, what has happened to revealing our imperfect beauty? Why do we feel the need for an app or filter to feel "pretty". Beauty will always come from within.
Avoid comparing yourself to others and feeling "less than" - remember each of us has a story and a past. Each of us are doing the very best we can every day.
Look to others for inspiration and motivation, but never compare yourself to them. You have no clue of the struggles they face or what they have been through by a post they make. Do your own thing in your own way and be proud of your hard work and your individual life lessons because they've made you the person you are today.
3 years ago, I would never have posted a post workout picture that is a close up, hair not perfect, with "fish lips", and a sweaty mess, hahhahahaha!!!!
Years I spent focusing on outside perfection rather than fixing the internal disaster. Then I discovered that in order to exude beauty, you must love yourself and fix all of your internal issues and focus less on what you "appear" to be on the outside.
Be yourself, do your best every day, forget your past and all of your mistakes, focus on the present moment and how you are working to put great things out into the world by actions more than just "looking" pretty. Because at the end of the day what matters the most is self-worth and self respect!
