Dedicated to all of the women out there who are giving up!
This post is dedicated to all of the beautiful women out there who are giving up!
Stop hating your body for not doing what you "think it should" as opposed to what it is meant to do. The amount of weight or body fat we lose or gain is feedback. We should learn to evaluate what changes have been made, good or bad and determine whether or not we need to increase our efforts to gain better results.
If you think you aren't getting anywhere then you are doing it wrong. Use your body's feedback to fix it, even if that means you need to start all over. Even if that means you need to work hard!
There are many things to consider when you are calculating your progress, like genetics for example. We can't change what we are born with, however it is not an excuse to simply give up.
Have you ever sat amongst a room full of women and witnessed the conversation has slowly shifted to body image? We slowly begin to unravel all of our faults. We start to explain all the things we are unhappy with and we wish we could change. I am guilty as any for doing this. We have made ourselves the victim of circumstance rather than the victor of progress.
Here is a picture of some of my closest relatives. My grandmother, (standing, top/ left), me, My sister-n-law (top/right), my aunt, (bottom right),my sister, (bottom/middle), and my youngest daughter, (bottom/left).
We had a conversation over this past weekend about how easy it is to give up on ourselves. We have all been there once or twice in our lives. The amount of work it will take to reach our goals seems impossible! So, we quit and we settle into a place where we feel miserable and stuck.
If you have reached this point, there is good news, YOU ARE HUMAN! So you have been lazier than you should be. You haven't really exercised or been mindful of your nutrition in a while. Who cares!? Today is the day you step up and begin again!
That's the cool thing about this life! Nothing is set in stone until you are dead. Until then, get up and try again and again until you get it right!
Always aim to do your personal best. Never compare yourself to the person next to you. NEVER make your goals about anyone else, this journey should be about you and only you.
I look at this photo of my family and I am proud to be a part of it!
